Never Too Late to Learn: Part 4

Do it for yourself

If a person spends all their life solely working for their families to have a better life in the dunya, are they likely to have a good akhira too?

Im sure you would agree it depend on the intention and ultimately we don’t know what actions will lead us to jannah 🤷

Here are some perspectives to consider

Perspective A
If a person is selflessly doing things, putting others needs before their own, and in the process entirely neglecting their own ibadah and spiritual development

I’m sure you would agree it would be a cause for concern regarding their akhira 📛

Perspective B
Before doing things for others we think about the reward or knowing it is an action loved by Allah,

In doing so, we are thinking about it with the view of our akhira,

Even if we put others priorities above our own (ithar) this is still thinking about where you will end up in the akhira up by doing such an action ✅

In conclusion

Why are we doing what we do for others?

Questions like this would be a good measure to understand your actual perspective in daily life

Allah commands us to worship Him, through actions i.e. memorising, learning ilm to perform ibadah properly, understanding the Qur’an, correcting our internal moral compass 🧭 and much more

This requires time and effort, so make sure it is properly prioritised i.e. to fit it into your daily routine

Among the actions loved by Allah are those that may be small but consistent

In addition, is to honour the rights of others

It is due to the Mercy of Allah that we are inclined towards looking after our families and communities

However we must be conscious of Allah when doing them, in doing so we are getting rewarded so much more and distinguishes us from those who don’t believe in the akhira
