Isolation Inspirations: Day 1

By an author who wishes to be anonymous

Assalaamu’alaykum brothers and sisters, I pray to Allaah ta’aalah that everyone is in the best of emaan and health.

Since I recently contracted Corona virus and like so many others have had to self isolate for 10-14 days,

I wanted to share an inspiration a day, to try and shed some light on what can be perceived as gloomy times.

Day 1 – Positivity

I read a simple yet mindblowing hadith yesterday:

I have not seen anyone smile more often than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.

Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī

This is our beloved Messenger Peace and Blessings of Allaah Ta’aalah be upon him and his family and all his companions.

If you read about his life, you’ll notice that he went through the most testing challenges anyone can face.

Both of his parents passed away when he was young, as did so many he loved throughout his life, during his short yet phenomenal time.

As the last and final Messenger of Allaah ta’aalah on this earth, he endured slander, propaganda, physical abuse, boycotts, poverty, extreme hunger, conspiracies, treachery, magic, illness and more.

YET he smiled more than anyone, AND he is the most beloved of all creation to Allaah ta’aalah and chosen above all as His last and final Messenger.

This means that remaining positive and upbeat at all times.

Whether that is in our individual daily struggles, the global situation with the pandemic, or the state of affairs we see across the world today.

We have to remain positive and hopeful, always.

Also, the fact that Allaah Ta’aalah destined for his beloved to go through so much hardship should really help us to construct our viewpoint on lifes affairs.

Tests and tribulations (which we will all take our portion of) are there to strengthen us, and purify us.

They also make us turn back to Allaah Ta’aalah, much more so then when we are in bliss and ease.

When any form of calamity, hardship, or struggle befalls us, unstead of becoming become fatalistic/pessimistic, and questioning “why me?”

Let us be grateful/optimistic, and thank Allaah ta’aalah for the innumerable blessings He is constantly showering us with, and make the test a means of getting closer to Him.

May Allaah ta’aalah grant us the tawfeeq to uphold this sunnah of optimism, Aameen.
