Isolation Inspirations: Day 2 – “The Cave”

What does self isolating in my room remind me of?

Being confined to one room is similar to being in a cave.

You’re secluded from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Our prophet Muhammad peace and blessings from Allaah ta’aalah be upon him was in a cave the moment the Angel Jibreel Alahyhi salaam came to him with the first quranic revelation from Allaah ta’aalah, and the glad tidings of prophethood.

He used to seclude himself there in the cave on Mount Hira, around 4KM away from the ka’bah in Makkah.

He would spend time in solitude contemplating about his creator, his own existence, the universe etc.

Contemplation is the key to success.

When was the last time we “plugged out” from the super fast paced lives we live, to contemplate on our life.

Why we’re here, where we’re going, and refocus to push ourselves further and get closer to our Creator.

Self reflection doesn’t necessarily have to be done by locking ourselves away in a room.

It’s more about be able to stop and think, and constantly reevaluate our lives.

May Allaah ta’aalah give us the tawfeeq to take time out to think about the things that really matter.
